A Special Trio of New 5 Star Hotels for Mallorca in 2020

When hopefully things have settled down later this year how about planning a trip to Mallorca to stay in one or more of these outstanding new 5 star hotels.

Two of these hotels were set to open fully last month, the third in the summer but the opening dates have all been delayed due to the current situation. You’ll have to wait a little bit longer before you can discover these fabulous new hotel offerings on the island.

Hotel Creu de Tau Art and Spa

Following its soft-launch last year the Hotel Creu de Tau Art and Spa Hotel is located on the edge of the historic village of Capdepera to the north east of the island.

This impressive conversion of a former 19th century convent, once home to the Franciscan nuns of the Daughters of Mercy, has a wonderful feeling of space as soon as you enter the sand stoned clad building. The high ceilings in the public areas and clever use of the former chapel, its now the bar and other reception rooms….

Capdepera’s hill-top castle can be admired from many of the rooms and suites as well as from the hotel’s pool terrace.

The bedrooms and suites at this adults-only hotel all vary in size due the historic buildings layout. Tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard with beamed ceilings, stone floors and complimented by muted tones and select pieces of carefully selected furniture. The combination of these interior design features blend perfectly with the high-tech, touch screens for climate control, smart lighting and bluetooth.

Cova Negra, the hotel’s restaurant, is under the watchful eye of chef Pablo Tamarit from Valencia who will be certain to guarantee you a superb dining experience.

The hotel features an extensive art collection of paintings, sculptures and photographs from both local and international artists, all of which are for sale.

Boutique Hotel Can Aulí

Located at the heart of the old town of Pollença, the beautiful new five-star Boutique Hotel Can Aulí will offer an oasis of peace only steps from the shops, restaurants and cafés of this historic town. El Calvario, one of the town’s most iconic locations is just seconds away with its impressive stairway of 365 steps, one for each day of the year. Flanked by cypress trees and fourteen three-metre-high crosses it leads to the chapel of Montisión affording some outstanding views of the area.

All the rooms are bright, spacious and are fully equipped with all the amenities you would expect to be able to relax and unwind. Many afford views of the old town.

Can Ferrereta

Located in the quaint rural town of Santanyí, known as the ‘gold-stone village’, in the south east of Mallorca. The town is close to many of the best beaches on the island and more than 48km of spectacular coastline.

The team behind Sant Francesc Hotel in Palma is meticulously restoring this historic 17th century grand house and creating Can Ferrereta, one of Europe’s most exciting new hotel openings in 2020.

The hotel is set right in the centre of the small town and comprises of 32 individually designed rooms and suites, surrounded by verdant gardens.

Many of the bedrooms will feature private patios and terraces, while the hotel’s signature suite will have its own private swimming pool and garden.

Can Ferrereta will also be home to a Ocre, a Mediterranean restaurant with a Mallorcan patio, serving delicious seasonal dishes made with local produce. There will also be two bars, one of which will be a pool bar & restaurant named La Fresca situated alongside a fabulous 25 metre swimming pool.

Complementing all this will be a gym and a beautifully designed spa, named Sa Calma with hammam and an indoor pool.
