9 Great Blogs from Mallorca & Spain

Much has changed since the publication of the first blog 25 years ago. Latest figures show there are over 600 million blogs out of 1.7 billion websites in the world and their authors account for over 5 million blog posts daily.

From simple beginnings as personal diaries, blogs have been transformed over the years into online journals or websites displaying information on a multitude of different subjects from the personal to the political, from recipes to reviews & from toys to travel.

Blogs are now platforms where individual writers share their views on a particular subject and connect with a global audience. They have also been rated as the 5th most trusted source for gathering accurate online information and there is now even a blurred line between journalism and blogging.

Travel Word CloudToday Bloggers are often referred to as “social media influencers” or “content creators”. This year statistics have shown that 77% of internet users read blogs regularly and that 70% of consumers would rather learn about a business from a blog than an advertisement (Source: D. John Carlson).

Blogging or web writing, a much more acceptable term for conversational and informative web content, is in fact a combination of a number of skills. Firstly it requires the creation of a webpage with the tools to allow the content to be shared on the internet, this is then followed by the actual writing process which is in turn posted, linked and shared.

It’s an ideal way to document your travels and experiences, share your tips and trials, express your passion for your hobby or your favourite recipes. But most importantly it’s a great way to connect with the world because it is truly universal.

Mallorca Reflections is an enthusiastic supporter of other blogs, bloggers and web writers, regularly featuring their articles and posts in our Mallorca Reflections Flipboard Magazines. These blogs are an invaluable guide and a great starting point for travellers and readers around the world to explore the island of Mallorca and mainland Spain.
