PRIME LOCATION
Opened in May 2015, Portals Hills Boutique Hotel is located on a hillside overlooking Portals Nous one of the most exclusive and luxurious areas on the island of Mallorca. Close by is the internationally renowned Puerto Portals Marina in the very heart of the Bay of Palma, it is one of the most prestigious nautical and leisure complexes in the Mediterranean with over 650 moorings and an exclusive shopping area with designer boutiques, yacht agencies plus numerous restaurants and cafés.
The city of Palma is only ten or so minutes away by car and here you will find many of the city’s historic landmarks, the Arab Baths, the stunning Gothic Le Seu Cathedral, and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina.
Tip: If you fancy a swim in the sea or a day at the beach, you will find L’Oratori beach, known locally as Portals Nous beach, only ten minutes away from the hotel. It’s blue flagged and features fine golden sand and calm waters.
ART, DECORATION & DESIGN
Portals Hills Boutique Hotel is different, it’s stylish, cosmopolitan and very cool from the moment you enter this white-on-white modern palace with it’s golden art deco accessories and custom-designed furniture.
From the entrance lobby a sweeping white staircase leads you down to the pool side bar, La Cabana Poolbar and Lounge, with it’s floor to ceiling glass wall. Outside on the large sun deck there are plenty of lovely loungers and daybeds, gently swaying palms as well as great music. This airy, calm space creates a chilled atmosphere beside the infinity swimming pool and offers great views of the Bay of Palma and the Mediterranean beyond.
The project, undertaken by the renowned ICAZAR Architects in Palma, and the interior design by Luc van Acker have been featured in many architectural, design and luxury hospitality publications.
ROOMS & SUITES
The white-on-white colour scheme mixed with golden art deco continues through to all thirty suites which are perfectly orientated to ensure stunning sea views.
The twenty Deluxe rooms are around 40 square metres. They feature extremely comfortable king sized beds, pillow menus, air-conditioning and heating, 40″ flatscreen TV’s, MP3 docking sound systems, electronic safes, minibar refrigerators, Nespresso coffee machines and free Wi-Fi. The three Grand suites and the Key Largo Suite are slightly larger at 44 and 47 square metres respectively, whilst the Penthouse suites on the top floor also feature extra large balconies.
All these suites have spacious bathrooms with large rainfall showers, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers and Bulgari toiletries.
At the top of the hotel is the FENDI inspired Penthouse. This offers pure unadulterated luxury with not one, but two en-suite bedrooms, loads of lavish living space, a high spec kitchen, premium entertainment systems plus designer Italian furniture and accessories by FENDI CASA. And that’s not all, from inside the suite you can take your own private lift to your own 100 square metre roof terrace with unobstructed sea views.
All suites receive a turn-down & tidy-up service each evening too!
Tip: Spoil yourself or significant other! Choose the amazing 100 square meter FENDI Penthouse where seclusion is assured and all you have to do is surrender to the sublime.
LA CABANA POOLBAR & LOUNGE
Set under swaying palm trees next to the infinity swimming pool, La Cabana Poolbar & Lounge is a great spot to have lunch or enjoy a chilled glass of something cold in a laid back environment with the some of the best music.
The carefully created menu offers sun drenched flavours to savour, from classic international dishes to some of the latest interpretations of Mediterranean cuisine.
For lunch the menu teases the palate from the Prawn or Chicken Caesar Salad to the Sushi Roll of the day or the stunning Jamón Iberico. From the Entrecôte or Sirloin steaks to the Dorada or the chef’s fish of the day recommendation.
For dinner, add the stunning Vitello Tonnato, a Couture look Ceviche and the Mediterranean blue fin tuna Sashimi. The tempting Breton Turbot and Prime Rib of Lamb await you as a main course.
It’s also a great place to watch the Mallorcan sunset display with a glass of champagne or a signature cocktail and in high season there are chilled-out DJ sets several times a week.
Tip: Taste the Jamón Iberico with honey tacos, spanish brioche, power dips & kalamata olives.
BREAKFAST BUFFET IN COLLINS RESTAURANT
Breakfast is served every day in the Collins Restaurant, either inside or outside on the large terrace. The buffet style breakfast includes a large selection of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, yogurt, cereals and juices complimented by hot dishes such as waffles or pancakes. Eggs are served any way you would like with smoked bacon and/or grilled tomatoes. The hotel’s signature Eggs Benedict is accompanied by hot buttered English muffins.
Tip: Taste the Eggs Benedict with Country Ham or Salmon.
WELLNESS LOUNGE & FITNESS CENTER
The Portals Hills Wellness Lounge allows you to disconnect, unwind and immerse yourself with luxurious wellness & beauty treatments as well as holistic wellbeing treatments. Whilst the outdoor Wellness Pavilion by the pool allows a more al fresco approach.
Deep tissue massages, organic facials, luscious body scrubs and slimming wraps are all available from the well trained beauticians and therapists.
The well equipped fitness centre offers a full range of fitness training equipment with the latest modern machines.
Portals Hills Boutique Hotel is a great place to stay just outside Palma de Mallorca with stunning views, Miami vibes and the beach, the Mediterranean and the city near at hand.
The General Manager, Kristin Mach, and her terrific team are amiable hosts and extremely helpful.
We have absolutely no problem in recommending this lovely small Miami inspired hotel, just remember bring the bling!
