PRIME LOCATION

Boutique Hotel Sant Jaume is located in the Carrer de Sant Jaume, one of Palma’s oldest streets, between two of the city’s most historic buildings: the fifteenth century Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Magdalena Convent.

The hotel is situated in a grand mansion dating from the eighteenth century next to the Plaça de Santa Magdalena square.

Many of Palma’s historic landmarks are within easy reach by foot, the Arab Baths (1.0km), Palma’s stunning Gothic Le Seu Cathedral and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina (0.8km).

Tip: If you fancy a swim, head over to trendy Portixol (3.0km), meaning ”port and sun” in the local Mallorquin dialect, with it’s small, curved sandy beach, a good selection of eateries and a relaxed, beachy vibe. Here you will find some great fish and seafood restaurants, and excellent tapas places.

ART, DECORATION & DESIGN

This former 18th century house has been classically updated by the architect Cristina Martí Crespi into a sleek, urban space with a towering atrium dominated by the blue-and-white art installation by leading Spanish artist, Robert Ferrer i Martonell.

The interior decoration of the foyer and bar area are further enhanced by the combination of low curvy sofas, geometric designer lighting, stone floors and warm coloured textiles.

More contemporary art works by the likes of Robert Ferrer and Jose Luis Cremades can be found in the hotel’s communal spaces.

Fun Tip: See how many pineapples you can count? From ceramic to brass they are in abundance!

The thirty six rooms include the fifty square metre Sant Jaume Suite on the fourth floor, six Junior Suites, three with their own terraces and twenty nine standard and premium rooms.

All rooms and suites feature the natural tones that feel so at home within this historic building. Premium rooms and suites are spacious, comfortable and feature extremely comfortable king-sized beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and towels, robes, slippers, air-conditioning, Smart TV’s, Wi-Fi, hair dryers, hair straighteners, a flat iron, safe, and mini bar.

Tip: Taste the “Suckling pig Peking Style”, a great take on the classic Chinese shredded duck and plum sauce, served on a wooden platter and featuring flatbreads, two salads and two dipping sauces: the first, Mango Chutney, and the second Soya and Chive.

Breakfast is served every day in the ground floor Fabiola Gastronomic Garden. There are three options: The Sant Jaume breakfast, the Express breakfast or just a detox juice.

The Sant Jaume Breakfast includes Eggs “À la carte”, featuring amongst others, Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine. There is also plentiful selection of fruits and yoghurts, Iberian cold cuts and cheeses, a variety of breads, rolls and pastries, fruit juices, coffee, tea, and cava!

The General Manager Lorenzo Riera Segui and his team are excellent hosts and extremely helpful.
