PRIME LOCATION

Boutique Hotel Can Cera is located in the Casco Antiguo (Old Town), inside the city walls in one of the most interesting parts of the city of Palma de Mallorca between Plaça Santa Eulàlia and Plaça San Francesc. This area was where Mallorcan nobility lived in their palatial houses amongst the medieval layout of narrow winding streets, churches and convents.

Many of Palma’s historic landmarks are within easy reach by foot, the Arab Baths (0.3km), Palma’s stunning Gothic Le Seu Cathedral (0.5km) and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina (0.6km).

Tip: If you fancy a swim, stroll around the bay to trendy Portixol, meaning ”port and sun” in the local Mallorquin dialect, with it’s small, curved sandy beach, a good selection of eateries and a relaxed, beachy vibe. Here you will find some great fish and seafood restaurants, and excellent tapas places.

ART, DECORATION & DESIGN

This former 17th century palace, set in a building dating back to the 13th century, has been completely renovated whilst keeping the original layout and many of the original features. A project undertaken by the businessman Miguel Conde Moragues and his architect wife Cristina Martí Crespí.

The interior decoration throughout combines palatial splendour, antique furnishing, high ceilings with contemporary art and Mallorcan fabrics transforming this hotel into a private palace in this historic neighbourhood.

Art abounds in the interior design of the hotel. The paintings in the restaurant and patio are by local artist, Carolina Amigó who bases her work on three main themes: Chaos, Fragility and the Individual. The contemporary art in the salons is by Monserrat Clausell who’s technique is based on her dealing with light and spaces whilst the Mallorcan artist Fernando Fabré also features prominently..

The large entrance into the stone patio leads on to reception via sculptures by Francica Marti and a giant Kentía palm. Adjacent is a curvaceous marble staircase leading to the palace’s original front door and reception room, now one of the hotel’s many highly decorated salons. There are four elegant salons, beautifully decorated and faithful to the original character. One of these leads off to Room 5 via a secret door. On the top floor is a light and airy sitting room, which doubles up as cosy TV room on a winter’s day.

ROOMS & SUITES

The fourteen rooms and suites are elegant, warm and exclusively decorated with Mallorcan fabrics, traditional furniture and seagrass flooring, king sized beds, air-conditioning, Smart TV’s, DVD players and free Wi-Fi. All rooms and suites receive a turn-down & tidy-up service each evening too!

All the rooms and suites have spacious bathrooms with rainfall showers, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers and Korres accessories.

The eight individually decorated Deluxe rooms have king sized beds and are around 30 square metres.

The five Junior suites are enhanced by natural light streaming through their large windows and feature large and extremely comfortable beds, an Illy coffee maker and kettle. These suites are between 40-45 square metres.

GASTRO-BAR & BREAKFAST BUFFET

The Gastro-Bar is cool and modern featuring Mediterranean-Majorcan cuisine including flatbreads, pasta and rice dishes as well as main courses of fish and meat. There is also a very good selection of quality tapas, salads and desserts.

The bar serves cocktails and drinks from 12:30 until 23:00 in a pleasant atmosphere at street level overlooking the quiet patio which is just outside.

Tip: Taste the Suckling pig confit with sautéed potatoes and vegetables.

Can Cera Hotel LogoBoutique Hotel Can Cera is a great place to stay in the Old Town of Palma de Mallorca, surrounded by history and close to everything you really need.

The General Manager Alejandra Resa Abad and her team are excellent hosts and extremely helpful.

We have absolutely no problem in recommending this lovely small palatial hotel, just remember there is no rooftop pool.
