Repsol Guide awards 18 Suns to Mallorca
Repsol Suns have highlighted the best restaurants in Spain and Portugal for more than 35 years.
The latest Guía Repsol (Repsol Guide) for 2018 has just been published and includes all the restaurants in Spain and Portugal awarded with one, two, and three Repsol ‘Soles’ (Suns).
“Repsol Suns are prestigious distinctions awarded to the best restaurants and chefs. The ‘Suns” are awarded by the Association of Friends of the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy (Real Academia de Gastronomía) and the Good Food Guild (Cofradía de la Buena Mesa) who select and evaluate distinguished restaurants by taking into account the following criteria: their culinary excellence, their quality of raw materials and their implementation, respect for local cuisine, the wine menu, and as well as table and dining room service.” – writes Guía Repsol.
Of the 30 Balearic Island restaurants included in this year’s guide, 9 restaurants boast two suns – ‘Guaranteeing excellent quality in cuisine and service’ – whilst 21 establishments have one sun -‘Offering high-quality cuisine and sufficient variety’.
