Michelin stars shine on Mallorca again!
8 restaurants with 9 Michelin Stars listed in Mallorca for 2020.
The Michelin Guide was established in France in 1900 and still uses the same simple criteria:
★ = ‘Very good cooking in its category’
★★ = ‘Excellent cooking – worth a detour’
★★★ = ‘Exceptional cuisine – worthy of a special journey’
The Michelin stars are the tip of the gastronomic iceberg. This year in Mallorca Chef Fernando Pérez Arellano’s Zaranda restaurant, at the 5-star Hotel Castell Son Claret, retained its two star status again.
Chef Álvaro Salazar’s new restaurant Voro at the Park Hyatt Mallorca Hotel, Canyamel gained it’s first start whilst five other restaurants on the island, Adrián Quetglas in Palma, Andreu Genestra in Capdepera, Chef Rapael Sanshez’s Es Fum in Costa d’en Blanes, Chef Joseph Sauerschell’s Es Raco d’es Teix in Deià, Chef Macarena de Castro’s Jardin in Port d’Alcúdia and Marc Fosh in Palma all retained their one star status.
The island continues it’s gastronomic journey with these extraordinary chefs and restaurants.
If there was any doubt, the Michelin 2020 awards confirm Mallorca’s place on the foodie map of Spain.
