Our friends at Can Ferrereta in Santanyi are patting themselves on the back after winning the Best Boutique Hotel in the National Geographic Hotel Awards yesterday as one of the world’s best new hotels in 2021.

Can Ferrereta was a 17th-century mansion in the town of Santanyi which has been turned into a 5-star hotel offering guests charming and relaxing accommodation. There is a wonderful sensation of space, natural light and textures creating a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel has 32 rooms and suites, boasts a spa and a central garden with a twenty five metre swimming pool surrounded by cypress and olive trees.
The pain staking restoration undertaken by Bastidas Architecture Studio, has transformed this once-derelict farmstead into the boutique hotel Can Ferrereta, a unique sanctuary that makes an unforgettable first impression as soon as you walk through it’s front door.
Only one other hotel in Spain featured in the 39 of the world’s best new hotels in 2021 and that was the Mandarin Hotel Ritz in Madrid.
