Boutique Hotel Can Auli is a carefully restored 17th-century mansion and is the seductive newcomer for IT Mallorca Unique Spaces group. Located in Pollença, it is the group’s first foray outside of Palma de Mallorca.

PRIME LOCATION

The hotel’s location, an excellent base for cycling and hiking holidays, the inviting rooms, peaceful garden and pool combined with the opportunity of al fresco dining makes this the place to stay in Pollença, Mallorca.

Parking is available nearby and it’s easy to stop outside to drop off or pick up your luggage as the street is very quiet.

The lovely town of Pollença is authentic and boasts a relaxed atmosphere. Whether it’s browsing galleries and boutiques, enjoying a leisurely coffee, cycling in the nearby Tramuntana Mountains or hiking up to a 14th century monastery, this town and it’s surroundings have an awful lot to offer.

On Sundays, the town’s market is held from 08:00 to 13:30 in the centre with over 300 stalls featuring food, crafts, shoes, clothes and plants as well as typical products from the island.

Leading from the central square of the town is an ancient stone staircase known as the Calvari Steps. The 365 steps lead up to Calvario Chapel and a fine view of  the coast to the Formentor peninsula and beyond. The walk up and down can be challenging, especially in the hot summer months, so make sure you take some water with you. There are a few places to stop along the way to take a rest and enjoy the views.

Nearby Puerto Pollença is just six kilometres away. Here you can spend your time enjoying the fine views of the port and beyond from the restaurants and cafes. It also happens to be the island’s northernmost cycling hub, close to the best climbs in the Tramuntana Mountains, scenic coastal routes and the central plains.

Tip: Some of the island’s best beaches lie close by, so why not pop down to Puerto Pollença with it’s small, sandy beach. Here you’ll also find some great seafood restaurants and excellent tapas places. Nearby Cala San Vicenç, the long sandy beaches of Puerto d’Alcudia and Formentor’s stretch of paradise are only a few kilometres away.

ART, DECORATION & DESIGN

This former 17th century manor house, once belonging to the local doctor, has been completely renovated. A project undertaken by the businessman Miguel Conde Moragues and his architect wife Cristina Martí Crespí.

The skilful renovation has paid deep respect to the building’s original architecture. The focus has been on using natural materials combined with local artistry whilst at the same time enhancing the property’s existing charm.

The spacious and light lobby features a fabulous stone arch and a wall installation using 1000 ceramic pieces by the local ceramicist Jaume Roig. 

The interior decoration throughout combines a selection of natural materials including linen, cotton, raffia and stone.

ROOMS & SUITES 

The twenty-one generously sized rooms and suites are designed to offer bright and spacious areas with comfortable, contemporary furnishings with the latest technology to hand.

The rooms are set over three floors and retain the building´s historic character within a beautiful walled courtyard.

Deluxe and Deluxe Terrace room and the generously sized Premium and Premium Terrace rooms have king-sized beds and either a shower or separate shower and bath.

Many of the rooms offer views of the hotel’s lovely courtyard and pool as well as the old town’s charming streets and stone houses.

All the rooms are equipped with wifi, plasma televisions, Marshall sound systems, a luxury kettle and the ubiquitous minibar. The king-sized beds are fitted with fine Egyptian cotton sheets to complete the picture.

Tip: Spoil yourself or significant other! Choose the fabulous Can Auli Suite divided into two spacious areas with it’s own private terrace overlooking the old town. 

Gastro Bar

A lovely tasty breakfast is served in the Gastro-Bar or outside on the garden terrace fr0m 08:00 to 11:00.

Whether it’s Eggs “À la carte” or fruits, yoghurts, Iberian cold cuts, cheeses, breads, rolls, pastries, fruit juices, coffee, tea, and cava, it’s all here.

A tapas menu of mostly locally sourced organic produce is served at lunchtime from 13:00 until 15:30 in the afternoons and from 19:30 to 22:30 in the evenings.

A modest wine list compliments the menu and includes four local wines in the selection of eight white wines (from €27 – 54), and four local wines in the selection of nine reds (from €28 – 110). In addition there are three rosés and of course a selection of the usual suspects, cavas, champagnes and spirits.

A 24-hour room service is also available.

The hotel also offers a a list of their favourite nearby restaurants and will book a table on request.

Tip: Highly recommended are: Can Mir 45 for tapas, the locals love it and so did we! and Trencadora for Italian.

Outdoor activities.

Can Auli is perfectly located for the enjoyment of a number of outdoor activities, from cycling to hiking, from climbing to walking as well as golf and a multitude of water sports at nearby Puerto Pollença.

The hotel offers it’s guests a cycle storage facility just a few metres from the hotel. Here guests can leave their bikes and associated bags in complete safety. There are a wide range of tools, to set up, repair and wash their bikes down before enjoying the great cycling roads and bike trails.

The hotel offers an expert concierge service to organise bespoke experiences.
