PRIME LOCATION
Centrally located on Jaime III Avenue an elegant and stylish street, NAKAR hotel is just steps away from designer boutiques, concept stores and art galleries.
Many of Palma’s historic landmarks are easy to reach whether you decide to walk, catch a cab or hop on a bus. Es Baluard Museum of modern and contemporary art located on the perimeter of the bastion of Sant Pere (0.2km), the Royal Palace of La Almudaina (0.6km) and Palma’s stunning Gothic Le Seu Cathedral (0.7km).
Tip: If you only have a couple of days the location is ideal for maximising your time in the city. Don’t miss the nearby, trendy Santa Catalina area (1.okm) with it’s eclectic mix of shops, bars, cafés and the oldest municipal city market in Palma de Mallorca where you might want to sample the sushi or tapas with the locals.
DECORATION & DESIGN
Islanders, owner Toni Ramis, architect Magi Marquès and interior designer Marga Rotger, have designed this hotel for the modern traveller. Toni’s grandfather was the original owner and it has been Toni’s dream to bring the building back to it’s original use and it’s original name: NAKAR meaning ‘mother of pearl’.
The elegant and minimalistic interior design combines natural oak, local stone and white walls with the more industrial black lacquered ironwork and glass creating a surprisingly relaxed atmosphere. Indirect lighting completes the picture.
ROOMS & SUITES
The fifty seven soundproofed rooms and suites offer soothing neutral décor with earth-tone fabrics and stylish fixtures and fittings plus air-conditioning, super speedy Wi-Fi and plenty of high tech gadgets to keep the most tech savvy nerd happy.
Five Deluxe rooms feature jacuzzis and small private terraces. Six Junior Suites have balconies overlooking Avenue Jaime III and a further six suites have the addition of a bathtub.
All rooms have extremely comfortable king-sized beds, or if you prefer two individual beds, latex mattresses and pillows fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets. A pillow menu is available.
The large glass-walled bathrooms come with Grohe rainfall showers, Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes and slippers, Molton Brown accessories and professional hair dryers with diffusers.
The high quality media systems include Smart TV’s, with satellite channels, on-demand movies and screen-mirroring for interacting with Samsung and Apple smart phones and tablets. There are multiple power and USB sockets, a laptop safe with a built-in battery charger and a Nespresso machine. Mood lighting with a motion-detection system ensures lights turn off when guests leave.
Tip: Take a Junior Suite overlooking Avenue Jaime III, one of Palma’s busiest streets,. The soundproofed quadruple glazing really works.
CUIT RESTAURANT & BAR
The eighth floor restaurant, named CUIT, meaning ‘cooked’ in the local dialect, is run by one of the island’s leading chefs, Miguel Calent. Miguel serves his modern interpretation of Mallorcan gastronomy using many local, sustainable and organic ingredients which will undoubtedly tempt many to stay in.
The open plan nature of the restaurant, with tables not too close to each other, creates a great venue for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The best place to enjoy your meal, if it’s not too hot, is out on the terrace with the spectacular view over the rooftops to the Bay of Palma.
A buffet style breakfast is served every day in CUIT and includes a large selection of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, yogurt, cereals and juices complimented by a range of hot dishes and eggs served any way you would like.
The bar offers drinks and tapas throughout the day and into the evening.
Tip: Taste the Potatoes ‘poor man’ with egg yolk and black truffles”.
ROOFTOP TERRACE
Looking for infinity? On the 9th floor of the hotel you will find one of the most spectacular rooftop pools in the city. Designed exclusively for hotel guests it offers stunning views over Palma’s rooftops, to the Gothic Cathedral, the port and Mediterranean beyond. At night, from May to October, it turns into a bar/lounge with live DJ music.

SUBTERRANEAN SPA
The hotel’s softly lit urban spa features a heated indoor pool, hammam, Finnish sauna, separate changing rooms and a relaxation area.
Two treatment rooms (one is a double for couples) are available for massages and wellness therapies.
City breaks can be exhausting. NAKAR Hotel is a great place to take a quiet, relaxing break, enjoy an excellent meal and chill besides the roof top pool. And being in the heart of Palma de Mallorca everything you need is on your doorstep.
