10 Michelin Stars shine on Mallorca

Michelin StarMichelin Stars shine on Mallorca again!

Nine restaurants in Mallorca have been awarded coveted Michelin Stars for 2017.

The Michelin Guide was established in France in 1900 and still uses the same simple criteria:

★ = ‘Very good cooking in its category’
★★ = ‘Excellent cooking – worth a detour’
★★★ = ‘Exceptional cuisine – worthy of a special journey’

Chef Fernando Pérez Arellano’s Zaranda restaurant, at the 5-star Hotel Castell Son Claret, retained its two star status, one of only 28 restaurants in Spain to be rewarded in the two star category.

Six other restaurants on the island retained their one star status, Andreu Genestra in Capedepera, Bou in Sa Coma, Es Fum in Costa d’en Blanes,  Es Raco d’es Teix in Deia, Jardin in Alcúdia and Simply Fosh in Palma. New single stars have been awarded to Chef Adrián Quetglas for his restaurant in Palma and Chef Álvaro Salazar’s Argos restaurant in Port de Pollença.

We really do have some excellent fine dining across the island!
