Mallorca Hotel wins Silver Award in the American Architecture Prize

Puro Hotel in Palma de Mallorca has won a Silver Award in the inaugural American Architecture Prize.

The American Architecture Prize honors designs in the disciplines of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture with the goal of advancing the appreciation of architecture worldwide.

Purehotel3Purehotel2Designs were evaluated by the AAP Jury based on form, function, and innovation. Puro Hotel was awarded the Silver designation in the in the Interior design / Hospitality Category.

They said: “A simple palette of natural materials is a constant throughout the project: oak wood, cement sinks and bathroom walls, recovered mares-stone walls – the traditional limestone used in traditional mallorcan architecture –, natural hemp ropes, stainless steel switches and fittings, aged leather, linen, cotton, fabrics produced on ancient mallorcan looms for upholstery, cushions and plaids, raffia carpets and wicker baskets produced locally.”
