Spanish Sabores is the blog of Lauren Aloise.
Lauren says: “I am a professional eater, writer, cook, food tour operator. Fascinated by food and its history. I love: a gooey slice of tortilla, fish markets, homemade cocktails, train travel. I hate: Overhyped restaurants, wine snobs, long menus, mediocrity.”
Since 2009 she has lived and breathed Spanish food. Travelling around Spain in search of local food and farmers. She has met the families behind the food, heard their stories and learned to cook the most authentic Spanish recipes which inspired her to start her Spanish food blog.
In 2012 Lauren started a small food tour company called Madrid Food Tour which has grown to become Devour Tours. She currently offers food, wine and tapas tours in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Granada, and Santiago. Her mission is to connect travellers to small, family-run food businesses and show them the depth of local culture. She gives her guests an insider’s view of the city, complete with the story of what she’s eating and why.
She loves to cook and her recipes are a reflection of the Spanish classics (mostly from her Andalusian mother-in-law) and her love for travel. For simple Spanish recipes with an occasional twist, check out Spanish Sabores.
